Dehumidification
Belvent A/S was responsible for pressure and flow tests in the initial stages, as well as the installation of a retrofitted dehumidification system for the main cables.
Until the opening of the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge in Turkey, the Great Belt Bridge was Europe’s longest suspension bridge.
The bridge is one of the key landmarks in Danish infrastructure, making correct and optimal maintenance essential.
Dehumidification and airtight sealing of the main cables are the primary measures used to protect the cables against the effects of corrosion and rust—an alternative to paint, which has previously been used on similar structures.
Wrapping
The dehumidification of the main cables was carried out in close collaboration with Davai, who were responsible for the successful wrapping and airtight sealing of the main cables.
